About Mike

I am Mike Davis, a guy who is pretty passionate about sharing science in all its forms.  For the past (almost) 20 years, I have been doing science demonstration shows for large and small audiences around Chicago, and more recently, Florida.
More recently, I have become enamored with open source electronics like the Raspberry Pi and Arduino.  My blog page has a lot of my projects in there, from the beginners perspective.  While I am not a programmer by training, I believe it is possible, and even essential, to learn how to work with computers.

As a community college professor, I am working to integrate programming into our traditional experiments.  In short, I want to change the way we collect data, and change the way we teach and learn science.

When I’m not teaching, demonstrating, or learning, I enjoy playing with my kids, running, and listening to music.
